South and North Korea have been divided over 70 years in a risky tension resulted from the ideological conflicts among superpower states in the cold war era. In the astonishing changes over the innovative development in global politics, economics, and the social environment, however, the situation of the two Koreas pursuing different paths looks un-shakable. This article tries to revoke the fundamental question of the two Koreas’ shared goals and values from the same origin. What are the supreme standards and ideals the two Koreas should pursue toward a peaceful and prosperous future as a harmonized global leader? This research tries to suggest a constructive discussion on this question guided in the international relations (IR) theories and public diplomacy (PD) practices providing rational and practical approaches stepping forward to the wayward mission of ‘benefiting human beings in a holistic way’ and hopefully reaching the ‘peaceful unification.’
