코로나19라는 미증유의 위기를 맞이하여 대부분 종교들이 보여준 모습들은 나약하고 소극적이며 부정적인 모습들이 많았지만, 코로나19를 극복하는 데 있어서 종교의 역할은 여전히 중요하다. 인간과 자연, 만물이 공생하는 생태 중심적인 세계관을 확립하는 데 있어서도 그렇지만, 코로나19로 인한 정신적인 질병, 즉 ‘코로나 블루’ 를 치료하기 위해서는 명상, 기도 등 종교적인 치유가 필요하기 때문이다. 금강대도는 코로나19라는 일찍이 겪어 보지 못했던 전염병 사태를 맞이하여 처음에는 다소 당황하기도 하였지만 유튜브와 웹엑스와 같은 디지털 플랫폼을 활용하여 소통을 하고 있고, 총본원과 각 지방에서 소규모 집회를 하면서 무엇보다도 각 개인의 영성 회복을 위한 수련에 매진하면서 코로나를 극복하기 위한 지혜를 모아가고 있다. 원격회의 시스템은 코로나를 극복하기 위한 궁여지책으로 도입한 것이지만 제 4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞이하여 디지털 문화에 익숙한 젊은이들을 상대로 한 미래적 포교 및 교화를 위해서는 필수적인 측면이 있으므로 차제에 더욱 발전시켜 나아가야 할 것이다. 1999년 창립된 ‘금강대도종리학회’는 그 동안 학문적인 체계화를 통한 합리화, 보편화 작업을 해왔다. 종리학에 있어서 일차적인 연구의 대상은 도사(道史)에 대한 정리와 대성경(大聖經)에 대한 번역 작업이다. 성훈통고와 같은 언행록의 번역 출간, 석박사 등 인재 양성, 그리고 외부 학자들이 참여한 학술대회가 계속되어 왔고, 이를 논문집으로 발간하였다. 종리학에 대한 개인연구서를 비롯해서, 10여 편의 석사논문과 세편의 박사논문이 발표되었다. 현재 총 11경 28권의 대성경 번역비롯해서 3대 도주의 언행록 및 대도 역사 서술 등의 사업을 계속해나가고 있다. 대도내의 도직자 양성을 위하여 금강삼종대학을 두어 교육을 하고 있다. 디지털문명, 또는 포노 사피엔스 문명의 도래가 피할 수 없는 미래의 모습이라면, 비록 코로나19로 인해 불가피하게 경험하게 된 디지털문화이지만, 차제에 이를 더욱 발전시켜 나가는 것이 미래 종교의 발전을 위해서 유익한 일이 될 것이며, 코로나19라는 미증유의 위기를 오히려 기회로 승화시키는 긍정적인 계기가 될 수 있을 것이다.

Faced with the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19, most religions showed weak, passive and negative aspects, but religion still plays an important role in overcoming the COVID-19. It is because we need religious healing such as meditation, prayer not only in establishing an eco‐centric worldview in which humans, nature, and all things coexist, but also in treating the mental illness caused by the COVID-19, that is, ‘corona blue’, As for Kumkangdaedo, they were a bit embarrassed at first by the unprecedented pandemic of COVID-19, but they communicate using digital platforms such as YouTube and Webex, while holding small gatherings at the general headquarters and in each branch, above all else, they are gathering wisdom to overcome the COVID-19 while focusing on disciplining for individual spiritual recovery. The remote conference system was introduced as a measure to overcome the COVID-19, but in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, as there are essential aspects for future propaganda and edification for young people who are familiar with digital culture, on this opportunity it will have to be further developed in the future. In particular, it has been used for simple meetings and lectures, but going one step further, there are tasks to be developed, such as training and meditation using digital tools. Founded in 1999, the ‘Geumgangdaedo Jongrihak Society’ has been working on rationalization and generalization through academic systematization. For Jongrihak, the primary object of study is the arrangement of the Dosa (道史) and the translation work of The Holy Great Sutras(大聖經). Translated publications of speeches and acts such as Seonghuntonggo, nurturing talents such as master’s and Ph.D. courses, and academic conferences in which external scholars participated have continued, and they were published as a collection of academic papers. Including personal research papers on Jongrihak such as ‘a complete collection of Geumgang Samjong University Jongrihak’ and ‘a collection of Geumgangdaedo Jongbeopwon Order’, about 10 master’s theses and three doctoral dissertations were published. Currently, we are continuing projects of translating The Holy Great Sutras in a total of 11 scriptures and 28 books, as well as the three Masters’ words and deeds and the history of Daedo. Being established to foster adherents within Daedo, the Kumkang Samjong College provides education. While conducting in‐ depth Jongrihak education through undergraduate and graduate courses, it operates a three‐part system of Education Center – Undergraduate School Graduate School (Master’s Program Doctoral Program). If the advent of digital civilization or phono sapiens civilization is an unavoidable future, although it is a digital culture that has been inevitably experienced due to the COVID-19, it will be beneficial for the future development of religion to further develop it in the future, and it could be a positive opportunity to turn the unprecedented crisis of the COVID-19 into an opportunity.
