The purpose of this study is to analyze and synthesize the implications of Sabbath practice on Christian ethics in the postmodern era. In the domain of Christian Theology challenged by the advancement of Postmodern Ethics, the practice of Sabbath draws attention as a motif of postmodern Christian ethics. In postmodern society, Sabbath emerges as a postmodern ethical motif to overcome the harmful effects of gendering, racialization, and naturalization beyond religious spirituality and social ethical symbol emphasized by modern thinkers. The thought of Sabbath by Brueggemann, Dawn, and Moltmann is presented as a motif of resistance against structural violence, a motif of economic justice in the age of polarization, and an ecological ethical motif in the age of globalization. Entering the 21st century, Christians observing Sabbath practice an ethical life, stopping production and consumption through resting, resisting exploitation and development, and looking around neighbors and nature beyond the religious acts on Sabbath. Like this, the ethical phronesis implied in the thought of Sabbath becomes an ethical praxis that resolves the problems which encounters in the postmodern age.
