The purpose of this study was to examine and categorize the experiences in the process of selecting the physical education career of specialized high school students through the Q methodology. Through this, it was attempted to understand the characteristics of each type of specialized high school student and to present a strategy for developing a desirable physical education program. In order to organize the Q population, written interviews and literature reviews related to physical education career path selection experiences of specialized high school students were conducted. Based on the results derived through this, a total of 34 Q statements were extracted after sorting out sentences that were duplicated or ambiguous in meaning. The Q sample statement was classified into a regular distribution table on a 9-point scale for 49 specialized high school students. The collected data were analyzed through a pc-QUANAL program. As a result of the analysis, five types identified. The first type was professional orientation type, the second type was self-affinity-oriented selection type, the third type was future-oriented job preference type, and the fourth type was vocational diversity pursuit type. Through this study, it is believed that in clinical practice, it can be used as basic data necessary to construct an educational strategy that helps specialized high school students choose a sports career and maintain and develop a developing sports vocational culture.
