Building Register Raw Data in Korea recently opened to the public. The data contains more than 20 billion records that have location, area, structure, material, building use, permission date and a lot of other information. This study analyzed the structure of building register raw data and the relations among the provided files from the viewpoint of data user. Then, restructured data schema was suggested with NoSQL format for the purpose of avoiding duplicated data and understanding data structure intuitively. Restructured and geocoded data was explored with the exploratory data analysis methodology. The study discovered and interpreted social events and human behavior patterns beyond physical information on the base of materialized raw data. Building register raw data is a repository of our material building culture. Inherent knowledge behind the data should be examined for better understanding of our history and culture and can be investigated with EDA methodology.
