The recent FTA conclusions and the decrease in the agricultural population have led to the drastic decrease in therice production; consequently, the use of NACF warehouses is in drastic decline. So the central and local governments haveplans to increase the use of empty NACF warehouses and provide new cultural community spaces. However, while dataconcerning the specifications and the acoustic characteristics of finished materials for NACF warehouses are required to changethem into cultural spaces, there have been almost no such data in South Korea. From this point of view, research wasconducted in 29 NACF warehouses to analyze the sound absorption characteristics of their inner finished materials andspecifications. The results showed that while the floors of the NACF warehouses were all finished with concrete, the finishedmaterials for walls and ceilings had different sound absorption characteristics and were the most important elements indetermining acoustic performance of the warehouses. Acoustic simulations were used to analyze reverberation time and theroom constant for each warehouse. Reverberation time at 500 Hz ranged from 0.80 to 3.19 seconds. Acoustic performance waslargely classified around the point of rapidly changing reverberation time at 500 Hz into three groups: 0.8-1.33 seconds forGroup 1, 1.74-2.44 seconds for Group 2, and 2.63-3.19 seconds for Group 3. The warehouses with acoustic performance inGroup 2 accounted for the largest percentage (59%).
