As life style based on cultural life has been embodied, various types of auditoriums have been designed. In order to find out acoustically optimized space, architectural acoustic is applied in an early stage of design, and acoustic efficiency is evaluated. However, due to a lack of support from client and consultants whom take charge of auditoriums, it is seen that only evaluation in vacancy condition is advanced, whereas evaluation under seated condition has been rarely done. In this point of view, this study is finding out the condition of acoustic efficiency measurement in both domestic and overseas, and analyzing difference of acoustic absorption rates between acoustic simulation and actual practice, in order to display a necessity of the evaluation of acoustic efficient under seated condition. As a result, the data of acoustic characteristics under seated condition was hardly found domestically, but most of auditoriums in overseas have taken experiments about acoustic efficiency in both empty condition and seated condition. Moreover, the absorption rate under seated condition from the simulation was shown relatively lower than the actual rate from various case studies from auditoriums over the world, therefore it has difficulty to apply figures from the simulation as the data. From the result, it is suggested that the acoustic evaluation under seated condition is required after realization of auditorium in order to build accurate performance space based on results from actual measurement.
