Today’s play performances, which are often deconstructed, subdivided, and fused into various styles, are being experimented and performed consistently. These are completed by an actor’s presence itself, and the physical body as a ‘pre-existence’ should be the core. The long-cherished wish of actor will be presence on stage as a live character anytime. Actor are writer’s fictional characters based on his/her own pre-existence, and in every moment, actors should make their own theatrical characters exist now on stage. Although performance’s genres and styles are changed, the question of actor’s presence always remains the largest assignment to actors, and will be agony for the numerous theater people. In particular, Stanislavski and Meyerhold consistently agonized this matter, and devoted their lives to find the methodology that makes actors are able to live on stage in any forms of performance. In the Russian theater school, the ‘Stage Movement’ class that combines Stanislavski’s method of physical action with Meyerhold's biomechanics, is fundamental for actor's training. I have applied the Russian Stage Movement class to my own stage movement class in the Korean theater education system. Therefore, this paper explores how various applications enables movement studies for the actor's presence on stage to be training methods. Also, in the Korean theater education system, the insufficient supply of acting classes has not found any solutions. Thus, if we take advantage of the stage movement to build a methodology that is able to train existent actors on stage, it will suggest an effective answer for the solutions, and the students can be high-quality actors to express a wide range of theatrical forms.
