The purpose of this study is to understand the effects of the Laban move- ment educational program, which is one of creative movement programs originated from Laban Movement Analysis program in western countries such as U.S. or U.K., on the creativity of young children. T h e subject were 12 four and five-year-old children in city of Sungnam (Bundang area), Korea. They were divided into 3 groups by equal numbers as experimental group 1, 2 and control group. The experimental treatment for group 1 was carried out more than 24 times over 6 months, and for group 2, it was carried out more than 48 times over 1 year. The test instrument used in this study is Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children: K-CCTYC(Jeon, 2000). The results of this study are as follows; The Laban movement educational program increased young children's creativity. It was found that experimental group 2 showed higher improvement in sub-scales such as originality, imagination, and in physical area than control group. These results suggest that the Laban movement educational program can be an effective educa- tional method for young children's creativity.
