The purpose of this study is to develop an ESP (English for Specific Purposes)education manual for English education of winter sports instructors in Korea. Forthis purpose, ski instructors’ jobs were analyzed using the DACUM (Developing ACurriculum Method). For the job analysis, a DACUM committee extracted theduties and tasks which require English education and examined each task’simportance of the English education and complexity of communication. A DACUMcommittee extracted five job areas and twenty eight tasks. Among them, twentytasks were English required tasks such as communication with foreign skiers,answering on students’ question, and safety education. After this step, a surveytargeting ski instructors was conducted to verify the DACUM committee’sdecision. Based on this survey, the tasks were ranked by the requirement ofspeaking, listening, reading and writing ability. Then an ESP education manual forski instructors was designed to reflect the result of the job analysis conducted inthis study. This manual is expected to be helpful to ESP leaners by providing acustomized English education.
