Pupose: This study limits the legal status of maritime security officers' problem of using firearms. Methods: Analyze the previous research on documents and official data provided by relevant organizations. Conclusion: First, the ways to improve the legal status of domestic and foreign maritime security officers are as follows: Piracy should be defined as 'pirates' in international law, defined as 'marine special steel' as per domestic legal basis. Second, the division devoted to work of Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries needs to find a way to respond. Third, in addition to piracy, it is also necessary to cooperate with relevant organizations to take measures, such as riots and flagship of the flagship sea. The use of firearm and how to improve the management standards of maritime security officers are as follows: First, in connection with restrictions on the use of firearms in Korea, it is necessary to designate organizations regulated by applying foreign standards. Second, it is necessary to designate ministries and agencies such as unification of government agencies, licensing, dualization of ministries and in charge of regulating use of firearms. Third, it is necessary to effectively strengthen the regulation and control of the Ministry of Maritime Security for government training and certification.
