This study aims to explore satisfaction of work-family life and to analyze which factors might influence work-life balance and conflict. This analysis is based on the assumption that the effects of work-family institutions are affected by organizational contexts, it means that there might be a distinction between public and private organizations. For the analysis, the work-family life is measured by both balance and conflict and the factors are analyzed by hierarchical dimensions such as personal/family level, organizational level, institutional level. The results show that there is no difference on the level of work-life balance between public and private organizations, whereas private organizations have more work-family conflict than public organizations. In terms of the factors, personal/family and organizational factors are significant, particularly supports of family and organizational culture. On the contrary, effect of institutional factors(work-family policy) is limited only focusing on conflict mitigation. The work-family policy has no influence on public organizations, but only on private sectors. This study suggests that work-life policy needs to be consider personal and organizational contexts ㅠsuch as personal recognition and organizational culture.
