This paper aimed to investigate the apparatus and elements for 'making history living' that the Living Museum implement, for this purpose the concept and evolution of Living Museum will be examined, and finally Hyde Park Barracks Museum which is one of 13 Sydney Living Museums is taken as a case study. In particular, the Living Museum covers a wide range of outdoor museums, preserving the shape of houses, buildings, places, customs, etc., in accordance with the ‘living history’ concept of reviving history by recreating the history, memory, and behavior associated with objects do. However, in the face of the problem that inevitably invites personal nostalgia and has a tendency to be subjective and romantic in the course of historical reenactment, the importance of ‘interpretation’ and ultimately the level of the vivid experience of the visitors will be emphasized. So I proposed the apparatus and elements for ‘making history living’ of Hyde Park Barracks Museum which is unique evidence of the convict period in the history of Sydney, Australia, first, the speaker setting from people and creature who lived there, second, revealing the layers of the space, third presenting apparatus of power from the point of view of politics of placeness, fourth, offering the opportunities for visitor’s experience and historical reenactment.
