More than 25 years have passed since the Japanese military ‘comfort women’ issue has become a social issue. This issue has now become one of the universal issues of the international community as a matter of violence against women and women’s rights, which should not be repeated again beyond the past history of Korea and Japan. However, contrary to the mainstream, the Japanese right wing’s ‘comfort women’ negation has become trend in Japan, with the emergence and reinforcement of historic revisionism and the conservative right of Japanese society under the long term power of Abe’s cabinet. The next struggle of the Japanese right wing which win domestic discourse struggle over ‘comfort women’ is a ‘history war’. Its purpose is to correct the perception of the distorted ‘comfort women’ issue in the international community and restore Japan’s lost history for more than 70 years after WWⅡ. The main battlefield of first history war on Japan’s right wing was the small city of Glendale, California. This article explores the ‘history war’ of Japan’s right wing and its limitations in the internationalization of the ‘comfort women’ issue by analyzing the process of the installation of the ‘peace girl statue’ in the city of Glendale and subsequent demolition suit.
