With closed schools increasing in the vicinity of city recently, there are increased problems reusing a grand multi purpose auditorium. This study proposed multi program space designs by analyzing the reusing closed school programs and utilizing local closed schools. Closed schools were used the multi cultural centers or welfare facilities at first and they have gradually been changed into more various types of the space to meet local residents' needs. Reusing closed school is largely divided into educational using, improvement of local community(income), cultural facility using, public sports center and other programs. Reusing closed school was centered in farming and fishing communities at first. But recently it was increased rapidly in the around city due to merger policy of schools. There are few examples of closed multi purpose hall. Because in the middle of 1980s, a gymnasium was supplied in city schools and in the late 1990s, with school meals beginning, all schools began to have multi purpose hall, the building age still remains. We come to know through analyzing examples that architecture planning which focused on flexibility was mainly used ;vertical, horizontal expansion or reduction such as exposing wooden truss of gabled roof after removing ceiling part, eliminating walls, dividing classroom and then structure reinforcement. When we plan to use multi purpose hall, to enhance the utilization ratio, we not only should have a specialized program to meet the grand space but also constitute multi program for local community. Division and expansion of space plan with changeable walls and furniture is essential for this. Also planning holding traces of original space (external appearance, structure, finishing material, certain image) and a sense of open space can maximize the utilization ratio.
