Recently, because investment environment in China is worse off due to political and economic reasons, Korean multinational enterprises in China are seeking for other countries for Investment. Reflecting that situation, this research empirically analyzed investment decision of Korean multinational enterprises in China by using a unique Korean firm-level data Survey of Business Activities by Statistics Korea. The empirical findings are summarized as follows. First, high-productive firms invested in China diversify their investment location toward South-East Asian countries while low-productive firms do not. Second, the Korean firms invested in Chinese industries that are highly R&D intensive and related to high value-added.
