Since the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) epidemic began in December 2019, more than 2.8 million confirmed cases have been reported worldwide, and the disease is still spreading. The World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, and several clinical guidelines have been recommended regarding strategies for COVID-19 in patients with various underlying diseases, including asthma. According to the reports so far, the prevalence and severity of the COVID-19 in asthmatic patients are not much different from those in the general population, suggesting that asthma may not be a risk factor for COVID-19, even though viral infection is the major triggering factor of asthma exacerbation (AE) in adult asthmatics.1-4 This report is aimed to share our experience and provide valuable insight into management of adult patients with severe asthma during the COVID-19 pandemic.
