In recent years, intensifying racial and religious conflicts around the world, the equal integration among various society has emerged as an important issue. In Korea, discrimination, inequality and human rights violations of immigrants have been raised as important issues, but the effort to resolve them are insufficient. In this regard, this study aims to compare the equality policy for immigrant in the UK and Canada. As a result, the equality policies for immigrant in both countries prepared a legal system for realizing immigrant equality, and equipped with efficiency and systemicity with establishing an agency which operates the equality policy system. Also, the equality policies for immigrant of the two countries promoted both comprehensiveness and regional specificities. The analysis results provide policy implication for the development of immigrant equality policy in new multicultural countries in three aspects: needs the establishment of a law on racial discrimination; the comprehensive role of a dedicated human rights institution; and the development of continuous and future-oriented multicultural policies.
