This study compares and analyzes the narrative of sexual violence, which occurs frequently in Egyptian society, and how the three female protagonists from the Egyptian movie Cairo 678 responded to sexual violence. To this end, this paper uses a text analysis method to identify three types of responses of victims through dialogue between the film's narrative and the characters. Cairo 678 shows a series of processes in which the three protagonists, victims of sexual violence, influence each other and seek their own solutions to escape the pain. Through the three heroines, the director demonstrates that sexual harassment can happen to all women regardless of their socio-economic status. In addition, by illustrating Egyptians’ general perception that sexual harassment is not a crime, the director encourages the audience to engage in introspective analysis of this issue at hand.
