In this study, flowers and stems were extracted with Ethanol and water based alkaline solvent (1M NaOH) for the possibility of functional cosmetics raw material of Abelmoschus manihot jinhuakui. The results of the water based alkaline solvent (1M NaOH) extracted Abelmoschus manihot jinhuakui flower extract (WF) and stem extract (WS) and ethanol extracted flower extract (EF) and stem extract (ES) are as follows. All extracts in MTT assay had low or no toxicity to skin cells. In the production and degradation effect of NO, WS showed 57.14% inhibitory at 250.00 μg/mL concentration of extract. The order of generation and degradation effects of NO was shown as WS>WF>ES>EF. The inhibitory effect of melanogenesis effectively inhibited melanogenesis from concentration 250.00 μg/mL to 13.46% of WS, and overall the suppression was shown to be WS>WF>EF>ES. Inflammatory cytokine inhibition expression tests were all tested at 250.00 μg/mL concentration of extracts. The inhibitors produced in the WS of TNFalpha, IL-6 and IL-1β were 16.73%, 37.11%, and 36.30%, respectively. And all three types of cytokine production and low resolution decreased the amount of expression in the order of WS>EF>ES>WF, so WS was found to be the best. As such, Abelmoschus manihot jinhuakui's extraction using water based alkaline solvent (1M NaOH) appears to have increased the maceration effect. This is said to have demonstrated the possibility of functional cosmetics raw materials in Abelmoschus manihot jinhuakui, which takes into account the nature of natural products.
