In traditional Korean medicine, root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz. has been used as a treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and pruritus. However, the possibility as a psoriasis, chronic inflammatory skin disease, treatment has not been studied whether a methanol extract of Dictamnus dasycarpus Turcz. root bark (MEDD) can be used as a therapeutic agent for psoriasis, imiquimod (IMQ) as applied to the mice. With the inducement, daily for 7 days MEDD treated mice shows alleviation of scaly skin phenotype, immune cell infiltration in the dermis, and epidermal hyperplasia and less severe skin phenotypes in the lesion-affected area.
