This study aimed to look back the flow of researches on Korean educational administration, and also to research the academic tasks for the future development and the actual significance, by analyzing the trend of theses published in 'The Journal of Educational Administration' Therefore, it analyzed 1433 theses published in 'The Journal of Educational Administration' for about 33 years focusing on research theme & method by categorizing them. In the results of analysis in the aspect of research theme, first, the research theme of theses published in ‘The Journal of Educational Administration’ has been gradually diversified. Second, the percentage of the published research themes has been changing by quite sensitively responding to time flow or field interest. Third, the percentage of researches on theories of educational administration has been considerably decreased as time passed. In the results of analysis in the aspect of research method, first, there was the unequal distribution of specific research methods depending on time. Second, in spite of the unequal distribution of research methods, there was a continuous tendency to diversify research methods. In conclusion, the significance of ‘The Journal of Educational Administration’ is to establish the theoretical/practical basis of Korean educational administration. However, there are certainly tasks for greater development and rapid progress of 'the Journal of Educational Administration'.

본 연구는 한국교육행정학회 창립 50주년을 맞이하여, 한국교육행정학회의 대표적인 학술 지이면서 한국 교육행정학 연구의 보고인 ‘교육행정학연구’에 게재된 논문들의 경향과 특징을 분석하여 한국 교육행정연구의 흐름을 되돌아봄과 동시에, 향후의 학문적 발전과제 및 실제 적 의의를 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 이에 따라 ‘교육행정학연구’에 게재된 논문 1433편을 연구 대상으로 삼아 연구주제, 연구방법을 중심으로 시기별로 범주화하여 분석하였다. 먼저 연구주제 측면에서의 분석결과로는, 첫째, ‘교육행정학연구’에 게재된 논문들의 연구 주제가 점차 다양화되어가고 있는 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 발표된 연구주제의 비중은 시대적 흐 름이나 현장에서의 관심에 상당히 민감하게 대응하며 변화하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 셋 째, 시대가 지나면서 교육행정 이론을 다룬 연구들의 비중이 오히려 상당히 감소했다는 특징 이 나타났다. 다음으로 연구방법 측면에서의 분석결과로 첫째, 시대에 따라 특정 연구방법으 로의 편중현상이 나타났다. 둘째, 연구방법의 편중현상이 나타나기는 하지만, 꾸준히 연구방 법의 다원화 경향이 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 ‘교육행정학연구’는 지난 30여 년간 이러한 교육행정과 관련된 다양한 연구와 관련 논의를 지속적으로 이끌어오면서 한국 교육행정학의 이론적 기틀과 실천적 기반을 마련 해 주었다는데 적지 않은 의의를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 이와 함께 ‘교육행정학 연구’의 보다 큰 발전과 약진을 위한 과제들도 남아있음을 확인할 수 있다.
