Various camera-based displacement measurement techniques have been developed in the field of structure health monitoring and condition monitoring. However, the changes on illumination and backgrounds would impose noises to the conventional vision-based techniques. In this study, a vision-based displacement measuring technique using complex Gabor filters and a specially designed marker with orthogonal features is proposed to improve the robustness and accuracy of displacement measurements.
