Background : The Sasa borealis (SB), a species of bamboo, is a medicinal plant. It is known that SB has diverse biological activities like anti-diabetic, anti-obesity, anti-inflammatory, etc. This study was performed to investigate the antioxidant and neuroprotective activities of SB.
Methods and Results : Sasa borealis (SB) aerial parts were extracted using distilled water and 70% ethanol respectively, producing SB water extract (SBW) and SB 70% ethanol extract (SBE). Antioxidant components, such as total phenolic contents (TPC) and total flavonoid contents (TFC), of the extracts were determined and antioxidant activities of the extracts were measured by in vitro assays including 2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acd) (ABTS) and 2,2’-diphenyl-1 ... 전체 초록 보기
