The purpose of this study is to address alternatives to the legal status of workers, which is the basis of the application of the Labor and Social Security Act, to alleviate the precarity of platform workers. To this end, various legal status regulations for the protection of platform workers were examined, and representative cases were compared and analyzed. The analysis results are as follows. France is expanding its existing regulations. In the state of California, the US, all platform workers are treated as workers first, and the responsible for the change is imposed on the employer. The UK has set up a third category to protect platform workers. In conclusion, it is the time for new legislative activities to resolve the precarity of various atypical workers, including platform workers and to strengthen social security.
