In this essay, we analyze thinking-related courses in Korean colleges and point out their problems. We also suggest a multidimensional thinking education model for their new version. For these, in section two, we analyze that most of the courses are focused on critical thinking, especially on formal logic. Formal logic, however, is not critical thinking in itself. We need education for thinking disposition as well as thinking capacity and for creative thinking as well as critical thinking. In section three, from the fact that previous models based on community of inquiry do not sufficiently use characteristics of the multidimensional thinking out of too much stress on involvement of dialogues based on constructivism, we suggest a multidimensional thinking education model according to John Dewey’s five stages of reflective thinking and Matthew Lipman’s theory on community of inquiry. In section four, we analyze the process and results of the actual application of this model to college education. The strong points of this model are easy motivation and efficient cultivation of thinking disposition while its weak points are students’ insufficient readiness to this education style and low understanding of creativity.
