This study was conducted to analyze character levels and perceptions of character education based on the main pillars of the ‘Character Education Promotion Act(2015)’ as it pertains to Youngnam Theological University & Seminary students. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted and the data were collected from 176 Youngnam Theological University & Seminary students by using non-random and purpose sampling method.
By extension, data were analyzed using reliability test, crosstabs, t-test and F-test in an effort to calibrate the character levels and the perceptions of character education of students.
As results of analysis, the character levels and the perceptions of character education of students displayed significant differences depending on the sex, the department and the characteristic of student(general student/ student who has started studying late).
Finally, based on these results, implications for Character Education of Youngnam Theological University & Seminary were discussed. It is necessary to conduct a more detail and flexible character education and to set an character education goal and character education plan in Youngnam Theological University & Seminary depending on the result of this study.
