Survival swimming leaders(current 1st and 2nd level sports for all leaders or sports leaders who have a lifeguard certificate) are in charge of instructing survival swimming to elementary students. This research employes the DACUM method in the purpose of verifying the obligations and tasks that survival swimming leaders need to perform in their field and of investigating the value of professions and the level of profession needed for survival swimming leaders. In the pursuit of this purpose, the core obligations and tasks needed for survival swimming leaders were identified by having two times of experts’ conference, and questionnaires were made based on the preexisting data and details of the conferences. The following conclusions were drawn from the questionnaires answered by survival swimming leaders working in the field. First, six obligations and thirty one tasks were found for survival swimming leaders. Each obligation and task include general knowledge and techniques to perform as survival swimming leaders. Secondly, the findings reveal that prioritizing tasks by investigating the perception of task level, perception of significance and frequency of duties should be done in the educational process of survival swimming leaders. The survival swimming education is started at the 3rd grade level in elementary schools and will be expended to all 6th grade levels in elementary schools in 2020. In this regard, the outcome of this research is to be used as a basis for consolidating survival swimming leaders’ roles and tasks and also to be expected to contribute to the quality of educational environment for future survival swimming leaders.
