Purpose: This study examines the experiences of academic adaptation and career planning among the second career paths of college female athletes.
Method: This study used a qualitative approach to analyze women’s athletes ‘academic and career experiences in detail, and in particular, used ethnographic research methods to derive the behavioral patterns of participants’ meanings of life and daily life and career changes.
Results: The first factor was adaptation in a new environment. The component was a “tight training schedule” and a “gap between classmates.” Competition with students indicated that they were experiencing a gap between classmates. The second element was the pursuit of various careers and academic achievements, which consisted of “motivation & career conditions” and “the joy of academic achievement.” Participants expressed their understanding of the structure of door to succeed and their interest in learning through the motivations and movements they joined. The last factor was school adaptation and changes in career planning. Sub factor was adaptation to school & career planning, and lack of information in career planning.
Conclusion: The components include the direction of academic adaptation & career planning, and information about careers. Participants in the study seek to modify their plans for future careers as they adapt to school life and in the process, present information about careers.
