This study seeks to identify the current situation of Korea’s “Rules of Appraisal Practice” by introducing foreign countries’ related appraisal standards. Especially, even though appraisal industry's demand for an “Appraisal Review” is increasing, this situation that the fundamental concept of an appraisal review is not established yet is not so welcome. Currently, an appraisal review has not defined yet in the “Rules of Appraisal Practice”, so similar words are mixed and used vaguely in appraisal field. Appraisal review development requires as much professional knowledge and as much experience as appraisal work, so reviewer (review appraiser)’s professional competence is important. Therefore, it is imperative for appraisal field to clarify the definition, competence requirements, functions and the processes of the appraisal review that are being developed in other countries. So, this study is looking forward to seeing that an appraisal review is specified in the Rules of Appraisal Practice, based on this study.
