Recently, the newly created term, Dok-Bak parenting has been used. It means that a mother took care of her child(ren) by oneself even though one who has a husband. The purpose of this study was to explore the Dok-Bak parenting experiences of young children’s mothers. For this purpose, 11 mothers who have children in InCheon and Changwon area were selected. Based on their residence areas, the parents were divided into two focus groups. Interview data was recorded with the consent of the participants and analyzed after focus group interviews were conducted with these two groups. As a result, the Dok-Bak parenting experiences of young children’s mothers were summarized into four categories: ‘Negative perception on Dok-Bak parenting experiences‘, ‘Dok-Bak parenting experiences in the relationship with husband’, ‘Dok-Bak parenting experiences in the social relationship’ and ‘some challenges to escape from Dok-Bak parenting experiences’. It was found that there were common voices on Dok-Bak parenting experiences from the perspective of working mothers or non- working mothers. The significance of this study was to explore one of the social phenomenons, Dok-Bak parenting experiences with academic perspective using FGI interview. This study showed rich descriptions on the mothers’ experiences on Dok-Bak parenting and ways to support them effectively.
