The greatest difficulty of studying the <Honggyewol-jeon> (a classic novel by an unknown author)> study is that a reliable text for researchers to use does not exist. A fundamental reason for this is general unavailability of the original texts. In other words, <Honggyewol-jeon> is a work based on the prophecy scheme that the prophecy of Gwakdosa and its descriptive realization displays certain flaws and does not accurately correspond to the original. Accordingly, the copy of the original text is totally unsuitable as a study text. Because of this, this paper undertakes to plan for structuring a genuine copy of <Honggyewol-jeon> to contribute to securing a research text that can be relied on.
A serious flaw of <Honggyewol-jeon> is that the original work does not sufficiently express the intent of its author. From the collected copies, the 96-piece edition at Dankuk University that is considered the best reproduction of the original narrative does not draw the ‘Gundam 4’ as the misfortune for the third death in Prophecy 2, does not establish the ‘Preview of Meeting after 3 Years’, and does not prepare the ‘Place of Use for Two Marbles’, suggesting the work is incomplete. Therefore, this paper looks into the plan for structuring a genuine copy to alleviate the clear flaws of the 96-piece edition at Dankuk University, and yet it excludes the arbitrary decision of the writer. Following the plan presented in this paper, once a genuine copy that completely corresponds to the prophecy of Gwakdosa and its descriptive realization is structured, it is expected to raise the level of discussion on <Honggyewol-jeon>.
