A new vegetable soybean variety, “Danmiput” was selected from the cross Keunol/Wasehakucho (Introduced), and developed in 2002 on the basis of its yield performance and seed quality for vegetable soybean at the National Yeongnam Agricultural Station. “Danmiput” has a determinate growth habit, short plant height, white flower, gray pubescence, blight green seed coat color, and oval leaflet shape. Also, it shows resistance to lodging and soybean mosaic virus (SMV). Seed weight of “Danmiput” is about 73 grams per 100 green seeds. When “Danmiput” was planted on late April, the best harvesting time for it with green pod is the middle of the August. The fresh pod has dark green color. And it has a good seed quality for vegetable soybean. Furthermore, it has 10.3% of soluble sugar content and 3% point more than that of check variety. The average fresh pod yield of “Danmiput” was 10.48 ton per hectare which was 5 percent higher than that of check variety “Hwaeumput” in regional yield trial carried out at three locations from 2000 to 2002.
