The purpose of this study was to develop the strategies for establishing learning communities of junior college in Korea. For the purpose, Researchers carried out literature review about origin, concept, model, and effects of learning community, analysed cases of junior colleges's learning community, interviewed some community college faculties about Korean junior college's educational current states, and validated the strategies for establishing the learning community of junior college with the advices of vocational education expert panel.As a result, this study suggested 3 basic orientations and establishing procedure for learning community. The basic orientations of learning community in junior college were to construct a dynamic professor-student relationship, to develop professors' teaching ability, and to cope with diverse educational consumers' needs. Under the consensus of college members on learning community, and its supporting infrastructure, learning community could be accomplished as following procedure: ① organizing operating committee, ② implementing fact-finding survey and need analysis, ③ designing learning community program, ④ developing junior faculty competency, ⑤ framing operating plan, ⑥ carrying out its plan, and ⑦ evaluating the process and result of learning community.Additionally, this study recommended some perspectives for facilitating learning community of junior college and future works.
