The purpose of this study is to design English literature teaching method based on theory of Multiple Intelligence(MI) and investigate the impact of implementing an MI-based English literature class in the middle school. This theory of MI points at least eight different intelligences that human beings have in varying degrees. According to the MI theory, it can help the students become more self-aware and also help them determine their dominant intelligences through eight corner activities of English literature during four experimental classes. This study tries to certify the extent to which learners' attainment had improved through cloze tests. The results of this study can be summarized as follows below. Firstly, the results of two surveys (pre/post) were analyzed to certificate the change of interest in English literature, English learning, self-directed learning attitude of learners. And there was a significant difference in students' interest of English literature. Secondly, there was no significant difference in students' interest of English itself, English learning, and self-directed learning attitude of learners. At last, there was a significant difference in students' comprehension of English literature at the cloze tests. The findings suggested that multiple intelligence based on English literature teaching method (MI-based ELTM) can be applied to middle school English classes.
