This paper is the study of Hunsu(塤叟) and Jisu(篪叟) brother's poetic worlds. They lived in their native town and they could not enter into government service for several reasons. But they certainly did not complain of their social positions. They were satisfied with their lives retired in the nature. They accepted those lives as inevitable. Even though they had lived retired ones, they continuously concerned about their contemporary society. Hunsu(塤叟) and Jisu(篪叟) brothers were also not an exception as scholars of Joseon(朝鮮) dynasty generally did in their age. I looked into their chinese poems and could find three aspects of their poetic worlds. In a nutshell, it can be summarized as follows. First of all, their poetic worlds show the ardent admiration of Song(宋) dynasty's Yeomrak(濂洛) poetic tendency. They found out truth in the natural features of the season and figured their interests and feelings to themselves in their poem. Secondly, even though they were socially in unfavorable conditions, they did not complain of their situation. On the contrary, they comfortably accepted their given circumstances and furthermore enjoyed themselves over them. Finally, they were greatly concerned about their contemporary society. Sometimes they criticised their unreasonable society and systems. Sometimes they wanted to take part in the conduct of state affairs but they couldn't do so for several reasons. Therefore those situations that they were in might have induced them to criticise their unreasonable society and systems. I am looking forward to studying this more deeply in my future paper and also to other scholars' heavy researches into this matter.
