This study analyzes 4th Generation Warfare(4GW) in a view of Clausewitz’s center of gravity(COG) theory and investigates its applicability. While a militarily vulnerable nations recently see through COG of a militarily tenacious nations and achieve political purpose in case of 4GW, a militarily tenacious nation flounder through the uphill battle. This study analyze that the main cause is the lack of understanding of militarily tenacious nation. To solve above problem, this study analyzes definitions and features of 4GW and suggests correlation between COG and factors that affects 4GW. In addition, using the method of overcoming limitations of Karl Clausewitz’s COG theory, this research analyzes COG of the militarily vulnerable nation, Al-Qaeda, in Afghanistan war called standard model of 4GW. With this analysis, this studied fucos on a method that approach and distinguish COG of the militarily vulnerable nation among 4GW’s actors. This research applied PMESII method to distinguish the COG of Al-Qaeda.
