The April 19th revolution of Korea happened in the 1960’s. It was a special historical period of acute conflict between the East and the West, or the Capitalist Camp and Socialist Camp.China and Korea belonged to different camps at this time and where without formal diplomatic relation. However Chinese medias till covered the Korean people’s revolutionary movement, and commented on it extensively. These news reports and comments from numerous perspectives revealed the view of Chinese to the April 19th revolution, though the view bore the imprint of that times inevitably. Under this special background, Chinese regarded Korean President Li Seungman as a figurehead, or agency of the government of the United States. The view was that the government of the United States was the root of all Korean suffering, for it implementing colonial rule in Korea by Li Seungman. The struggle of Korean people against the dictatorship of Li Seungman was also against the ‘Li-America Group’, for the national liberation movement, democracy, freedom and the right to subsistence. Once more, the Chinese thought that the puppet government obstructed the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. So the April 19th revolution was the struggle for the peaceful reunification and of motherland, being part of Asian-African-Latin American democratic revolution and the world-wide struggle against aggression. Chinese media covers Korean people’s revolutionary movement in all areas during the period of the April 19th revolution, serving as a powerful source of support. Chinese government and various circles in society supported Korean people’s revolution movement in all kind of methods, by organizing demonstration, issuing statements and publishing many literary works.
