Recently, silver halide film is scanned and imaged into digital photograph and both digital photograph and silver halide photography are silver halide printed. It makes comparative image quality comparison possible between film camera and digital camera in a same manner. Therefore, factors related to image quality are analyzed with printed output of both digital photograph and silver halide photograph in order to assess image quality, objectively.
Also, the experiment for assessing image quality is held by comparing digital photograph with silver halide film according to lighting ratio and over/under exposure and the outcome is presented. For direct comparison between digital photograph and silver halide photograph to understand comparative image quality, digital photograph and silver halide photograph are independently assessed and compared to get the assessed figure presenting outcome of compared image quality. Finally, digital photograph was better than silver halide film in terms of image quality in both experiment regarding changes in lighting ratio and that of over/under exposure, except by 1:1 comparison of lighting ratio.
