All the media which we meet in everyday life are based on a digital photograph. For ordinary people, a photograph became our life from newspapers, magazines and Internet. A few years ago, a digital photograph did not have confidence for a resolution problem, a irregular color reappearance and the conservativeness and photographer took a dim view of it. However, a digital photograph is always changing and takes a good position in the world of a photograph. Due to this phenomenon, many photographer changed their work style from analog to digital and a digital photograph is already a leading role in producing images. However, many photographers think that a black-and-white photograph should be worked by analog. the reason of this thought is that the silver halide photograph which photographers have worked with analog will achieve an gradation expression well in accordance with their plans. the black-and-white photograph has a charm that send viewers the plans more appealingly than a color photograph. But, color images are main ones in a digital photograph. the black-and-white photograph is harmony with a contrast, a gradation and the depth of color. when various colors change into black-and-white colors, the difference of the depth of color tones will make images look different. That is to say, the difference of the depth of color according to the method of conversion is important in the black-and-white photograph. In this paper, depending on each method of the characteristics of various black-and-white conversion, the study will be fulfilled laying emphasis on a step-by-step changes of density
