The subject of the study is Japanese elder women who live in the welfare center named Najarewon in Kyung Ju, Korea, who moved from Japan for marriage with their Korean husbands and have lived in Korea during the Japanese Occupational Period (1910~1945). They couldn't back to her homelands and have lived with accepting their own destiny while running a risk of the people of an invader. On top of it, they were turned away from their family members in Japan and have lived turbulent life in Korea. I did discover that Japanese wives have lived with their pride and common and universal will for life as a human being and they have lived like a clown accepting painful situations and conditions. So, I tried to re-illuminate Japanese wives lives from various points of view such as globalization era, international community deviating from fixed eyes and conventional wisdom and raise an issue regarding national consciousness from various social viewpoints. Meanwhile, I tried to portrait captured the straight-looking eyes and impassiveness of the Japanese wives and visualized what I found in their shared poses as images of people via physical features such as their wrinkles, slightly bent, delicate facial expressions, which was resulted from turbulent lives. These candid images correspond with the direction of my study, which is a long-sought aim throughout my documentary career. On top of it, I thought that these pictures and images should be remained since these pictures and images represent the reality of our society, which were resulted from the Japanese Occupational Period. I did make a record via documentary pictures and images humane features, who tries to live taking their lives as a destiny with pains from Japanese people's viewpoints, not from a victim's angle.
