People say that it is the children who are responsible for the future of Korea. Therefore it is our responsibility to make the children grow mentally and physically healthy. The important elements which can help bring up the children who have a sound and positive thinking are ‘Dream and Hope’. We think that ‘What the children want to be in the future.’and ‘A will power to make their dream come true’can be a good motive of life. ‘Dream and Hope’ of the children who live in poor surroundings is considered to be more meaningful than those of children living in a common situation. We made a survey of ‘Dream and Hope’of the children who attend a branch elementary school which is backward in culture and do not receive cultural benefits as equally as the children living in a big city. We took pictures of the children who wore specially-designed uniforms which symbolized the future occupations of the children. The location was restricted to the branch elementary school where the children are now attending. Taking the future occupation of the children into consideration, we chose one of the places where the children used to go as the background. In order to emphasize the impotance of the children’s dreams, we took photographs with a low-angle. The children were induced to be posed for the photographs with a bright and positive atmosphere, thinking their self portrait of the future. We wish that the photographs which were taken with the present and the future of the children will remind them of their ‘Dream and Hope’, make them grow into a person with a sound and positive thinking, and make their dreams come true.
