Biological sciences have been dramatically changed since the discovery of DNA structure and now biological engineering is expected to be a key industrial area in the twenty-first century. Among several biological areas, "reproduction and development" become more interesting as they are directly related to the maintenance of human beings and recent technological success on these areas. Cloned animals produced by nuclear transplantation and artificial insemination are such cases. In this paper, it was investigated how "reproduction and development" areas were changed from 6th to 7th educational system, how much students know and what degree of interest they have on these areas, and what teachers think of the contents and research activities of these areas. One of the dramatic changes from 6th to 7th educational curriculum on "reproduction and development" is focusing on the reproduction and development of human beings, and elimination of contents dealing with the principles of development. The surveys showed that students found it very hard to understand the principles of development and teachers did not almost carry out the experiments on reproduction and development. It is suggested that as it is very hard to understand the principles of development from education on development of human beings, educational materials and research activities should be urgently developed to help education on "reproduction and development".
