The main purpose of this study is to develop and analyze the effects of a creativity instructional program on creativity for scientifically gifted students (i.e. progressiveness, recognition of owns ability to think intellectually). Research methods were applied to solve this problem. First, to examine the effects of the creativity instructional program based on biological area on affective and cognitive aspects of the students, two sections of students (N=40) from a selective secondary science academy in Korea provided a sample for participation in the experiment. Each section was studied for one semester. To identify the effects of creativity instructional program on creativity of statistical analysis method (ANCOVA) was applied. The major results are: First, students who participated in the creativity instructional program based on biological area showed significance increases in the area of creativity (especially, in intellectual thinking) compared with students in the control group which was applied by traditional method (.05 levels). Second, students who participated in the creativity instructional program demonstrated a better understanding of what real science is, as defined in the study compared with students in the control group. Third, students who participated in the creativity instructional program shared ideas more frequently with other students and teachers compared to students in the control group.
