The figuration of children of Korean folk tales can be examined from the viewpoints of the subject and the situation. In terms of the subject, children are superior to grown-ups; in terms of the situation, the children’s suffering is very serious. There are three types of children’s superior figures: wise children, sacred children, and excellent inner natured children. And the children’s serious situations come out of three categories: abandoned children, expelled children, and killed children. These are the figuration of children through Korean folk tales. These traits let us see Korean people’s awareness; the children’s mind is superior to older generation’s culture. What is more important is that the children’s mind is taken care of by the society.
