The purpose of this study was to examine relations between participation motivation to dance and satisfaction with their school life among students with dance major in an art middle and high school in order to provide fundamental information to search for educational methods to enjoy their school life. Our participants were currently enrolled students in an art middle and high school located in Seoul, Korea. We successfully obtained responses from a total of 270 students from those schools and analyzed those data with SPSS 21.0 PC version. Results of this study were as follows. First, we found that there were significant differences in satisfaction with school life and dance motivation between middle school students and high school students. Second, we found that there are significant differences in dance motivation and satisfaction with school life by years among middle school students. Third, we found that there was a significant difference in skill development only by years. Last, there were positive correlations between dance motivation and satisfaction with school life among middle school students and high school students. Based on those results, we conclude that we need to make middle school students motivated in dance with well-designed dance educational programs.
