The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the motivation for selecting the street dance major among college students upon their need for achievement and satisfaction with the class while verifying the mediating effect of the need for achievement. For this study, 350 college students who major in street dance in four-year universities were sur- veyed, and the data so gathered were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 23.0. The findings of this study were as follows. First, as for the major selection motivation, both the social motivation as well as personal motivation had an impact on the satisfaction with classes. Second, both social and personal motivations for choosing the major had a positive and significant impact on the need for achievement. Third, the need for ach- ievement among these students had a significant impact on their sat- isfaction with classes. Fourth, the need for achievement had a mediating effect in the relationship between the major selection motivation and the satisfaction with classes.
