On the days when many accidents involving atomic power including nuclear weapons have occurred, this tried to awaken the skepticism of those who are indifferent, and ask them what kind of attitude they should be in order to sustain the ordinary life, not the destruction of humanity. And examined the modern significance of Kurihara literature through Sadako’s life and literature. Kurihara objectively perceived that Japan was the atomic bomb perpetrator rather than the victim and expressed it through literature. Therefore, it is very meaningful to introduce Kurihara’s work to Korea. Kurihara hopes that humankind living in the present will not repeat the pains of the past again and that Kurihara has played a role as a witness to the times, expressing the horrors of Hiroshima destroyed by atomic bombing, the suffering of the wounded, anti-war and anti-nuclear in terms of poem. The work of Kurihara should be regarded not only as a literary aspect, but also as an important text of anti-war, anti-nuclear, and peace movements that give wisdom and lessons to the mankind, as well as evidence of the era to be passed down to the posterity.
