This treatise aims to research narrative technique of <Guwunmong>. The purpose of this study focuses on the correct and precise understanding of <Guwunmong>. And it is different from main studies on the value of literary history, the thesis and the basis of ideology concerning <Guwunmong> etc. In brief, the final goal of this treatise is the correct and precise understanding on <Guwunmong> and the practical using on education. For this purpose, I researched specific narrative techniques of <Guwunmong>. For examples, I studied on the creation of settings, happenings and characters. This research make the esthetic sense of readers clear at the time when the work travelling arounds. If current readers could understand the sense of beauty which readers of <Guwunmong> felt, it would be a proper and effective method for understanding <Guwunmong>. There are diverse narrative techniques, for examples, using of camera eye technique for setting, various naming methods, chapters dividing and poems hitching methods. These display the writer's ability using narrative techniques, and also show the level of creating techniques in Korean novels at the late 17th century. In brief, the study on <Guwunmong> were focused on the thesis, the thought of writer and the plot etc. But this treatise bring to focus on mere and specific narrative techniques which are going to help understand the world of <Guwunmong> on a view of current readers.
