The Buddhist scripture printing house is a institution to print sutras. It was set up for carving and circulating the Tripitaka at the beginning of Song Dynasty. The Buddhist scripture printing house can be divided into two phases according to its printing and distribution situation. The first stage is the period of Taipingxingguo Temple, when the printing house and translation center coexist, Buddhist scriptures translation, collation, engraving, printing and circulation was managed by the Government together. Eunuchs appointed by the emperors supervised the printing house. The second stage is the period of Xiansheng Temple, the printing house Once was abolished, Sutra printing was charged by the temple, the government’s control was looser than that of Taipingxingguo Temple period. Especially when the printing house was abolished, Tripitaka and other Buddhist texts could be printed by monks freely without the need for official approval. Eminent monk was appoint as the head of the printing house. In addition to carving the set Tripitaka, the printing house also carving offprint that is widespread and high demand as Lotus Sutra and Cache of Imperial Interpretation.
